This is the sixth page of my webcomic "Opey the Warhead".

It's already posted in my gallery as "The Connection", but since it's the sixth page, I've renamed it and reuploaded it so it follows chronologically Opey Page 5. I'd delete "The Connection", but I wouldn't want those who added it to their favorites in the past to have to go through all the trouble of doing so again, if they so desired.

Uh, great way of changing the mood of the story from humor to melancholy. It works perfectly, and is absolutely seamless. You rule, man :)

Thanks! My inspiration is the Charlie Chaplin films. He was always able to blend beautifully drama and comedy into one bittersweet concoction. It's something I've been trying to recreate in my own works.

He was a great artist. That's a great inspiration, and you're using it beautifully.

Wow. That is one heck of a page. So much detail in such a small space.

Beautiful stuff Zac. So Idiosyncratic of you. In my opinion you have fashioned your own style, a signature that is recognizable. I could see your art in a line up, and distinguish which is your work (I believe).

Really great work here.

Thanks, Fladam!

I strive to be different in my work. Admittedly, it's a hard road to travel, because people tend to adore the familiar or that which is already established. It can disheartening at times, really.

I totally agree, which is why I love the way you create imagery. Many folks try to replicate other artists styles, and although we are all inspired and influenced, I think individualism is crucial. Artists like Michael Turner (RIP), Adam Hughes, Kevin O'Neil, Eddie Campbell (From Hell) all have incredibly distinct styles which are different and distinguished.

Actually, I guess the late Mike Turner is less different now because so many other artists have mimicked his style, but he did set a precedent for younger artists to base their blossoming styles upon. Consciously or sub.

Point is that with a saturated market, being great at art isn't enough to get noticed anymore. Being great and distinctive is the only way to get acknowledged. Which is why I see you going far because you are distinct and unique. Your work on Opey is superb :)

I just had a thought. And I wondered if you probably know the oldest game called Final Fantasy VII - about Seporith's mother who was treated in same way as unnatural experiment. I wondered if you got this similar idea from the game too?

Final Fantasy 7 wasn't the influence for Opey's mom, I must confess. Still, I'm a fan of the earlier games.
