I love how you have the light cascading down on the school (formally know as the New Jersey State Prison) like it's a place of enlightenment rather than a place of punishment and reflection. The apocalypse seems to have "reformed" the very places we thought were dark and dreary. Perhaps there's hope after all for young Opey
The background is stunningly rendered. Those clouds are extremely natural looking/realistic.... And the lighting as well, peeking through the clouds is subtle and extremely well done. The scrap metal/broken stone is completely natural looking as well for the setting that it is... and the expression on the last panel on the professor.. exceptionally good!
Excellent as usual, I always look forward to your updates on my watch. They're amongst the first I look at. <3
Thanks a million for reading and faving "Opey the Warhead page 11"! I always look forward to reading your comments, and appreciate you taking the time to read them, my wordsmith friend.
What exactly happened to make Opey's world happen the way it is will be revealed a bit later.
By the way, the name of the professor on this page (not revealed here but later) is Prof. Langeneckert. He's a fantastic artist I had the privelege of studying anatomy under.
If you like to see his stuff, his website is here:
I'll just be patient and not jump the gun (or missile, in this case).
Mark's work is amazing! Life Drawing was one of my favorite classes and seeing his incredible pieces reminds me of just how fun it was. I can see now why your sense of anatomy has always impressed me - you had a terrific teacher. Isn't that almost always the case in life when we find someone we admire? If we could trace the influence back, it'd span centuries...
Mark is a huge influence on me. Before I took his classes, I was terrified of drawing hands, let alone the human body. I was always comfortable with faces, but not the figure as a whole. He helped me break that fear. I owe him considerably and admire his works a great deal.

That background took me a long time to render, but I can't help myself. I love detail. In fact, sometimes I put in too much detail.
