Opey the Warhead Page 15 by cluedog Opey the Warhead Page 15 by cluedog
Here is the fifteenth installment of my webcomic "Opey the Warhead". This page introduces the students at Adam City Elementary School, whose nom de plumes will be revealed in pages to come.

One of the coolest page I saw, I love changing styles!

Thanks! I don't know how many versions I went through to get to this one, but here is one such version: [link]

It's a lot more cartoony and manga-looking.

They both have that pop-up effect, but I like the one I saw today (today?) better, because of the expression, and it has greater contrast in styles, that nicely breaks the panel.

The expressions in this one are ideal - perfect for a big splash panel. :)

Wow, nice. Their expressions are great. What do you use to draw these pages?

Thanks for the compliments (and even looking at my work).

I draw the pages use one of those old-school dip pens (you know, the ones where you dip a knib into an ink bottle and draw using the knib). More specifically, I use a Hunt-108 knib and Higgins Eternal Waterproof ink. The Hunt-108 is great because its flexible and can do a nice range of lines (from very thin to very thick).

You're welcome!
I was certain that you had used more than one tool, but I see now. That's really cool. Thanks for the answer, I'll have to look into that. ^^

Could that Astonished kid actually turn into Opey's best friend? :giggle:
