Thanks for the compliments (and even looking at my work).
I draw the pages use one of those old-school dip pens (you know, the ones where you dip a knib into an ink bottle and draw using the knib). More specifically, I use a Hunt-108 knib and Higgins Eternal Waterproof ink. The Hunt-108 is great because its flexible and can do a nice range of lines (from very thin to very thick).
The boy´s expression just captivated me! It really looks natural and beautiful.
This story has such macabre atmosphere on it and in this page it´s very highlighted, or at least I felt so. The old building just gives the chills.
I use a really fine nib, a Hunt-108, to create the gray shadows. The nib is so fine it can produce the thin lines necessary for the gray shadow effect. I simply draw enough thin lines within a given area until I get the shade I want.
