"The face of death!" Also the hentai magazine is most funny and intelligent detail.
All the boys´expressions are so well expressing that reader can´t mistake them into another. Your pictures must tell at least 2000 words. You also change comical expressions into more cartoonish so smoothly.
These are really getting better with each page.. Their hands are really well drawn, and I love the expressions on their faces - especially the boy in the middle on the second panel. Never really noticed it before, but I love that their hair changes with their expressions! XD
It's a bit of my obsession, but I try to put as much detail into every Opey page I can. Jethro in the middle is the main man of the group, and the pretty boy. Still, Opey scares the bedoodles out of him
Beautiful. Your work shows for the immense amount of care you put into your comics and the style is phenomenal!
However, I feel that the last panel is lacking when you see 'the face of death' and you're staring into the shiny bullet front of a warhead... you should be trying to get away- or fall over in shock but still stare on in horror.
They kind of look like they're all leaning into eachother. >_>; At least, to me it looks like that.
I deeply appreciate the encouragement, but of late, I've been finding myself growing more depressed and hopeless. Frankly, I think my odds of making it are remote, I have so much of my artwork I need to improve.
Don't get so down. I'm just starting my undergrad for interdisciplinary design in the fall. Man. I'm depressed because there's so much I need to improve, and I don't draw as often as I should. =< And if you think your odds of making it are remote... then what odds do I have? ;_;
Though my opinion is not what counts I think you can make it. After all, your work shows you're not afraid of hard work. It's hard love really, ain't it? Keep working at it. 'Cause as an artist, that's what you do right?
Thank you for the very encouraging words, and the support. It is a constant struggle with me against my drawings. I love drawing, and yet, when I fail, it's like torture. I know I sound like a stereotypical artist. All I need is a beret on my head, and a Salvador Dali-like mustache.
I truly want to get better, and my ultimate goal is to see my work in print.
I wish you the best in your undergraduate studies in interdisciplinary design.
Jethro's the leader of the small group of deviants at Opey's school. There's only 4 pages left to this issue, then it's over. We'll see how the group of kids react further to that smiling weapon named Opey.
The hentai magazine I just threw in for a joke. I figured one of the kids had to be checking out porn.
Always makes me HAPPY seeing Opey in the deviation list.... and this one did just that - hahaha love it man, Opey has more class than these guys! LOVED the Hentai spin too .... your textures on the wall and stuff are great!
Shame, Poor Opey, I cant wait till he starts getting his own..... I could almost feel his despair when they were shocked, even though he was still smiling.... aaargh
Yeah, Jethro's the leader of his group. The names of a lot of my characters come from famous people (primarily musicians) or songs I like. Jethro is named after the musician Jethro Tull, Stan (the curly-haired kid) is named after Stan Lee, and Richard is named after the lead singer of the "Psychedelic Furs."
Opey, of course, is named after Oppenheimer, the man who took part in the Manhatten Project and helped develop the atomic bomb.
Nice idea. Big names that even sound cool if you don't know where they come from. The only ones I know from the ones you commented where Mr.Stan Lee and Mr. Oppenheimer!
Sometimes i use name from character I loved in some book, movie or comic. Once I used as a nickname: J.Torrance from the main charactr of the Shinning! XD
