I hope your New Year is going well.
I'm working to make this New Year a different one than last year. I'm working harder than ever, submitting my works to publishers and working on my own personal projects. I've been fairly timid about my art and getting it out there. But not any more. I'm pushing myself artistically and sending Opey and Miss Doomsday to as many publishers as I can.
Unfortunately, money's been pretty tight, so I'm opening a donation pool. The art I produce is time consuming and very detailed. This limits the amount of other work I can pick up. Commission work limits the time for Opey and vice versa. I work to put as much detail into every comic page, sequence, and drawing but it's a time consuming venture. I'm currently full on commissions but with current obligations I can't afford the time to do more work to cover finances. I'm going to have a monthly goal of raising $150, as that's the cost of the internet package I use (which includes cable and phone). It's pretty expensive and that's money that can go to food and other expenses. Right now, I'm freelance and I'm currently looking for some comic work but money is running thin.
So, if you enjoy Opey, Miss Doomsday, my pin-ups, or my sequences, feel free to donate to my paypal account at: grandmoffromero@netscape.net.
I'm currently working on a new page of "Opey the Warhead" and three new sequences. Your donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and take care.

On another note, maybe it's worth looking for editorial jobs/commissions, such as magazines. I've just done a competition for Little White Lies, which is a film magazine in the UK, which puts emphasis on left-field Illustration and Graphic Design. Maybe it's worth looking for some outlets similar to that for you to do work for, either local or national. Or you could look to bands and produce gig posters, or any number of work-related to the personality within your work.
Alot of alternative cartoonists spend their time juggling between these sorts commisions. Chris Ware - [link] Dan Clowes - [link] Charles Burns - [link] Getting this sort of thing done will definitely raise your profile.
I wish I could donate ya some dough, but I em unfortunately quite broke myself at th' mo'.
As for pitching your work, I believe in your work, man! Keep bugging those editors. Break a leg!
