Funny how nearly everybody's understanding of the Lore around vampires seems to come from Hollywood productions.

Maybe the bitching about vampires sparkling in Twilight MIGHT hold more sway now. Even though I tell people that vampires now do sparkle without any proper memory of not sparkling as that Twilight shit was part of an elaborate prank by Robin Goodfellow to appease the rulers of the Fae Courts... who now have names due to the fictions.

Puck flittered about at the ends of the Titania's throne, "what if? What if we did something to the sanguine based upon the same methods that gave you a name--removing your nameless allure. Something several times more embarrassing than you being marred in such a manner?" (What? You can TOTALLY see this... don't tell me you cannot!)

In the case of vampire lore... if you've studied the history--there are some variations that make more sense than others. You also learn that Dracula wasn't about a scary creature--so much as gay boning by Victorian "I cannot write two men actually kissing" standards. Based on a mixture of Camilla (the start of Lesbian vampires--thankies Victorian Era!) and a set of smear campaigns on the Ottoman Empire that usually stared Dracula's brother "Radu III, the attractive one" as the hero.

Though yeah... some variations of the actual lore (none of that "cannot go into sunlight" Hollywood bullshit) make sense too.
