Wow. I love the speedy falling bomb sensation, and the mix of surreality, drama, tenderness and violence given by the two figures and by the whole picture.
Also: you're crazy, man! That cityscape is awesome but it must've been a real pain to draw :)

Thanks! It was a pain to draw, not only for the perspective and detail but the distortion of the city as well. :)

Yup, I bet. I looked at that a lot, and while admiring the details I couldn't stop imagining the terrible stress that it must've been creating it. Apart the pure beauty and power of this picture, I totally respect you for your focus and conviction.

>.>; gah no kidding, I could see how you'd feel that way. That would have been more bitten off than I can chew lol, so it just makes me admire it all the more. XP My mind moves too fast for my hand to keep up I guess?

I'm blown away. The perspective, the architecture, the everything!

Reminds me a bit of Slim Pickens' fatal ride at the end of Dr. Strangelove.

Great stuff!!!

I love Dr. Strangelove. It's a great film.

What's interesting is one of my readers thought that Mystery Boy from Page 2 looked like he was from Dr. Strangelove.

Also, people, I've noticed, have interpreted the page differently. Some see Opey and the kid flying, others falling. I guess it can go either way.

Thanks for the nice comment, Mark, and I'm very honored to have you reading my stuff.

Thanks, Skinnee, for the fave and the comment.

Personally, I hate backgrounds, especially buildings, but I figured I needed to torture myself a little, so I drew numerous ones. I sort of messed up on some of the distortion of the buildings, though.

I really enjoyed your latest drawing, "Of Two Halves". The cross hatching (and its underlying concept) are excellent).

Heaha its MY PLEASURE man, really it is, and thank you for your kind words, although I think my hatching is crap, I need to look closely at your work about how to go about mark making with ink, cos I can learn a lot from it!!!! So hopefully you see my ability get better....

Thank you! I did use classic perspective techniques for a lot of the buildings, but some were fudged to get the distorted look around the edges.

Loved the angle, loved the title, loved the character(s). The buildings at the middle bottom could use a little more distortion though, to make everything more 'well-rounded' :hmm:

Nice and intelligent cover, akes one wonder what's going to happen and if it's a happy thing that they're "happily" falling or not. And we got a second issue, this makes me very happy.
