Hey Folks,
Now does not find me in a good time.   My brother's cat, Sassy, has been ill and not eating for a few days.  We took her to the veterinary hospital last week and they diagnosed her with hepatic lipidosis, which means her liver is suffering an inflammation and her body is metabolizing the fat in her body.  They didn't find any damage yet beyond that but she's been readmitted to the vet hospital because she threw up this morning, which is not what she's supposed to do.

I'm worried as hell.  Sassy's getting on up there in years but she seems like a healthy cat.  I've been worried for days, hardly able to work.  She's like family.  I even cried.  The thought of losing her terrifies me.  Resources are practically spent and I'm besides myself what to do.  I'm fearful they'll me they have to put her down or I'll have to help take care of the cat and watch her wither anyway.

Anyway, it's been a terrible, terrible week.  I love that little monster.

Howdy Folks,
I hope you're all doing fine.   Here's a few knick knacks I thought I'd pass along.

UPDATE:
-
:iconjdcalderon: is giving out free digital copies of the first issues of his comics "TallTails" and "The Oswald Chronicles": We're giving away some digital comics :D by JDCalderon.  Mr. Calderon has a wonderful imagination and the artist for his comics, :iconjadegl:, is incredible.  A few samples of the pages from "Oswald":
The Light that Attracts pg 72 by JDCalderon On the Wings of Diadra pg 44 by JDCalderon On the Wings of Diadra pg 25 by JDCalderon The Light that Attracts pg 10 by JDCalderon The Light that Attracts pg 74 by JDCalderon

I highly recommend the comic.  Plus, if you ever wanted to see a carriage pulled by flying cats...

-A dear friend of mine, Lt. Fish, has opened a youtube movie review channel.  It's just getting started but Fish reviews films that are a bit off the beaten path for most purveyors of filmdom.  You can see it here: www.youtube.com/channel/UCrUL6…

I recommend giving it a lookover!

-Speaking of films (and TV), why so many remakes?  My personal favorite "Ducktales"?  Oh, well, June Foray and Alan Young (the voice of Scrooge McDuck) are dead so why not.  They remade "Beauty and the Beast"?  It's not like they failed to get it right the first time.  The original is a great film.  Arrrrggghh!  I really am starting to feel it's time to put me in a glass display somewhere.  Everything I liked is the outdated version anyway.  Harumph!

-If you wish to contact me, you can get to me at my email address:  zacctheartoonist@gmail.com. It's a newer address and my old one is obsolete.  Or, you can note me here on DA.

-If you like my art, you can support me at my Paypal address: grandmoffromero@netscape.net.   You can also see exclusive transformation art and pin-ups by supporting me at my Patreon account: www.patreon.com/mostwondrousan…

-"The Quacking Dead" has its own Twitter account at: twitter.com/quackingdead .  It's also on "Tapas", a webcomic site, at: tapas.io/episode/710990

-For the first time ever, I'm listing my commission prices!  $10 per drawing (perhaps more depending on the complexity of the drawings).  Ummm...that's it.

Take care, you crazy cats.

How many people would be interested if I drew a webcomic for Patreon?  Essentially, the comic would be "Cursed", about a guy who gets changed into the girl of his dreams and finds an unholy horde of horrors waiting for him...er, her.

Howdy Folks,
First, thanks for the comments in the last journal.  I'm working hard on your various sequences and all will be done in due time.  It'll take time but I'm humbled by the work you've given me and take every commission seriously.

I'm now available on Patreon, where you support a starving artist (yours truly).  My account is here: www.patreon.com/mostwondrousan…

I'm new to this so if anybody has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.  The page will feature all-new art, sketches, previews for upcoming work and sequences, and other general wackiness.   Please feel free to support me if you enjoy my work.

Thanks, you crazy cats!

Howdy folks,
I just want to say that I have a long queue of commissions to produce.  I will get to every one of them and I will not cheat you out of your hard earned money.  I have never, ever ripped off a commissioner.  But some of you have been waiting a long, long time for the completion of your commission and for that I'm deeply sorry.  I'm trying my best here, I really am, but I'm slow.  I'm sure I've already lost some commissioners.  To be fair to the commissioners, I'm not that fast of a communicator, either.

All in all, after I'm through with this list of commissions, I may quit paid work, as I'm not sure I'm fit to be a paid artist.  Regardless, words cannot express how sorry I am how long some of you have been waiting for your commissions.  I'm trying the best I can.

Take care.

It's my hope that one distant day people will remember me and my art and say: "they don't make them like they use to".

Howdy Folks,
I'm working like a beaver on a variety of things, including commissions, a comic or two, and "The Quacking Dead".  Wait, beavers can't draw.  Ah, well, neither can I.  Anyhoo, I'm broke.  I was wondering if anybody would like a commission done.  I charge about $10 per drawing, maybe a bit more if something more complex is asked for.  You could also donate if you like to my Paypal account: grandmoffromero@netscape.net.  Regardless, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

UPDATE:  That was quick.  I'm full on commissions now.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Howdy folks,
Actually, I'm serious.   How about a remake of the sci-fi film "Logan's Run"?  I feel the original had a great concept and interesting ideas (no one may live beyond 30!), even if it was imperfect in its execution.  I think it could make a really cool movie or new TV show.  What do you think, sirs?  Or is there a film that does (or doesn't) deserve to be remade, reduced, or reused?

By the way, my NEW contact info is: zacctheartoonist@gmail.com.
And if you want to donate to a struggling artist, you can always donate to my Paypal: grandmoffromero@netscape.net .

Howdy Folks,
My favorite Christmas movie is "The Thing".  It's a film about people coming together and willing to change, regardless of who they are, in a wintery wonderland as a backrop.  There are chests and nuts roasting over an open fire, much dashing through the snow, festive colors abounding like red and green (lots of red), and Wilford Brimley.  It just doesn't get more Christmasy than Wilford Brimley. It's one of my favorite holiday movies.   That or "Star Wars".

I wish you all wonderful holidays and a happy New Year.

Take care, you crazy cats.

Howdy Folks,
I've got a bit of a small spoiler about the new film, "Rogue One".  Commencing Spoiler: 5...4...3...2...1.

Peter Cushing is in the newest latest "Star Wars" movie!  I'm a HUGE fan of the actor, not only because of all the classic horror movies he made, but because of his sophisticated but diabolical role of Darth Vader's boss in Star Wars Episode IV: Grandmoff Tarkin.  I was thrilled to see that he's in the film because Cushing hasn't been in a movie since 1994 due to certain health problems.  Well, to be more specific, he died.

Wait.  If he's dead, t-then why is he seen with new lines in "Rogue One"?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I mean, I know Hollywood is totally into remakes but this is ridiculous!

Howdy Folks,

As some of you know, I'm a huge "Walking Dead" fan.  I love that show: the characters, the zombies, the suspense.  That's why I'm aghast (spoilers coming), at the season opener of the show.   The brutal murder of the character Glenn Rhee left me pretty cold.   I know, that was the writers' intention.  They wanted to demonstrate that anybody can die, there are no favorites, that the "Walking Dead" world is, indeed, a dark and disturbing place.  But it still sickened me because here was a character I liked and was one of the few rock solid good guys of the show.

You follow certain characters throughout a series, get to know and like them, and then WHACK, they're gone, just like that.    It leaves you with the question: why have I been watching this show all this time?   The nice characters with a strong moral compass are killed off in the show in a sundry of brutal, terrible ways.   Dale is eviscerated by a zombie, Hershel gets his head sliced off by a katana, Tyreese suffers a slow death from a zombie bite, Beth gets shot in the head just like that, and Glenn gets his brains literally beaten out.   Maggie can't be far behind, another character I love.  Who, dear reader, are we left with?  Rick and a cast of other characters who are maybe two steps removed from the famous Walking Dead villain, the Governor.

The trouble is I used to like Rick.  Here you had a deputy sheriff who started out so compassionate that, in the first episode, he shot a zombie dragging itself along the ground, just to put it out of its undead, miserable existence.   Now, you have a guy who plots to kill his enemies even in their sleep .  I didn't mind Rick going full metal Wolverine when the cards were on the table, like when his son, Carl, was almost raped by a gang member.  But plotting to take over Alexandria even though it was largely peaceful and surviving even before he got there?  Leaving a trail of rubble and death wherever he goes, from Hershel Greene's farm to Woodbury and beyond?  And I love the character of Carol.  It's awesome to have this person who spent most of her life abused by her husband finding her voice and bravery in a zombie apocalypse.  But, in Season 5, scaring a kid into thinking she was going to leave him all alone to be feasted on by zombies?  Carol is depicted as always being a little unhinged but even that was a little disturbing for her.   I have nothing against rough anti-heroes, like the Man with No Name in "For a Few Dollars More" or Mad Max in the "Road Warrior".  But even those characters you felt had something of a sense of justice or humanity buried somewhere deep in them.  They're not heroes because the film follows them around.    They're heroes because, at their own peril, they did the right thing.

There are a few characters that will probably never be killed, like Rick or Daryl, so Glenn's death is a headscratcher, but the show has left me cold.   If I wanted this much darkness for entertainment, I'd watch the nightly news religiously.   Whoa, more people were slaughtered in Syria!  Yay!

The "Walking Dead" will probably continue to introduce new, interesting characters and well-written stories.  There are still a few characters that haven't gone rabid, like Michonne.  But one can absorb so much bleakness.

"Walking Dead", I love you, but here's one viewer that you lost.  I know that probably doesn't mean a heap of beans but, damn, I enjoyed watching that show.

Thank you for any consideration.
